E300, also known as ascorbic acid, is a food additive, an antioxidant, naturally found in most fruits and vegetables known as Vitamin C. Being a natural component of foods, the ascorbic acid has an irreplaceable role in the proper development of all biochemical processes that take place in the human organism, role which, unfortunately, additive E 300 cannot replace.
This is an industrial synthesized product obtained by fermenting glucose, followed by a chemical oxidation, which cannot be used as a vitamin supplement.
